My husband & are transferred planes in Miami on Father's Day. After a two hour delay, we were informed that the plane "shrunk" and our boarding passes were cancelled. We rented a car and drove 6 hrs. Home. I then asked for a refund for the plane flight, rental car, and gas. I was told because my husband was visibly upset that their policy indicates he would not be eligible for a refund. (He asked for a supervisor and it upset the counter guy who actually cursed at my husband.) I then said I would like a refund for my ticket, rental car, and gas as I had to get home anyway. It was denied. Tim Rhodes said we were denied boarding for "behavior" problems. My husband did not ask for a supervisor until after we were denied boarding. I am insulted that American Airlines is blaming us for their mistake.
