I called American Airlines to book a ticket for myself and my husband for his block leave before he leaves to Iraq. I told the rep. Multiple times that this had to be a refundable ticket because his leave can be changed at any time. He promised me that these were refundable tickets and assured me I had nothing to worry about. A week later after returning home I find out that the tickets are non-refundable. The supervisor on duty was extremely rude to me, told me I was stupid for believing I could afford refundable tickets and that they would not refund my account. However they offered to charge me 1300 to make them refundable or charge me 200 to cancel the flight and not recieve the 650 refund I was entitled to. Now my husband will not be able to go home before he goes to Iraq, and we are now out 650 doller. I have never been treated so terrible, and do not understand why I have to suffer for an employees mistake.
