I booked my son as an UM on Delta on March 31st. On April 1st they changed the UM fee to $100. Unfortunately, I didn't find out until he was already gone, with the $50 to board the plane. Not only was I upset that they changed the fee after I already booked, and signed an agreement to pay the $50, but how was I supposed to get the money to my son, since it's required that you pay it at the airport?
After talking to "customer service" 4 times for a total of 2 hours, their basic response was "we can't do anything"
Screwed. That's what I am. At 14 years old, he really doesn't need any help, but he can't fly without that fee. A fee that makes the flight twice what I paid. I could have booked any other airline for less than that.
Very Frustrated.
