Playa del Sol Resorts bought out La Jolla Resort where I have a one week timeshare. I pay an annual maintenance fee of 250.00 per week. The first year of the buy out, they increased the fee to 585.00. When I sent to them a copy of my original contract which allows only an an annual increase based on USA inflation rate with an 8 per cent cap, they informed me that they own the resort and my contract is null and void.
I informed the representative that this was not legal and that it was fraud. He told me that they could charge any fee that they wanted and there was nothing I could do about it. When I told him I would seek legal advice, he said that he was ending the conversation.
