My husband and I went to a so called vaction agency information seminar to be abel to recieve a cruise that was promised with no purchase required. Thid was not a information seminar. This was a high pressure sales pitch located at the Marriot.
The agency claimed to be a membership that would save you money and provide you with a full service vaction agency. The membership sounded good. The problem came when we said we did not feel good about making a decession the same day and wanted time to think about it. They kept telling us we could not come back later for the offer. So then the lady said she would get someone to see if we could come back later and just do paper work now. The answer no did not mean anything to the agency.
The next person, yes the next person to put more pressure on us gave us a different offer to come in at a lower fee with less perks. Making sound more affordable. I told them I needed to leave for my daughters concert and could not stay longer. I felt stuck not able to leave. So we signed the paper work.
The paper work was to agree to come back with the fees. After getting home and looking it over I found lots a little mistakes. And no cancellation procedures.
I also found in the book they gave us lots of facts that would have made the membership not sound good to me in the seminar. I feel these are hidden facts that should have been disclosed to me in the seminar, I deeply feel this is misleading to help insure a sale.
Some of the unexposed facts in the booklet are: additional fees for booking vactions. Family and friends can not be given a vaction bonus unless you pay extra fees. The full service agency does not do all the paper work. You have to feel out endless requests and forms to try to get a vaction in location you want, even then it may not be possible.
The free cruise is not free. You have to pay taxes and fees and who knows what else, booking fees and other unknown. The sales people did not give us a certificate for a free cruise until we agreed to sign papers to be members. The certificate is a piece of paper that says you can pick one vaction from it and can not call to ask question about the vaction until you send in your choice and then they will send you the information for the next step. This is a lot of paper work and waiting for answers and fees.
I have been sick with worries about the scam that has been done to me and many others that just wanted a free vaction that was intrade of hearing the seminar. I know the saying nothing is never free, has a new light to me and my husband.
