American Voyager Travel? A complementary cruise on carnival or royal carribean postcard in the mail, then a 60-90 min seminar. Beware!

I believe American Voyager Travel is now Exclusive getaways. Im sure you have seen the numerous reports American Voyager here on this site. Although im not 100% sure that Exclusive Getaways was American Voyager, I am sure they are pulling the same scam!!! First its a postcard in the mail with a complementary cruise with carnival or royal carribean. You have to attend a 60-90 min long seminar. It is a travel club membership that starts out at 6995.00.By the time we left the cost had come down to around 3500.00 It is a high pressure sales seminar in which they try to get you to join before you leave. They offer more incentive, which the whole thing is a load of crap. I told the person conducting the seminar, that we wanted to do the cruise asap and then if we were satisified with the service, then we would join. I was then told that the cruise packages they offered were not even booked by them so that wouldnt be an indication of their services anyway. He said the reason for this is that they give away so many of those complementary cruise packages that if their agents handled the booking for all of those that it would take away from the excellent service they offer their members. This threw a red flag for me as well as some other things ill discuss later. First of all when i called to book the appt for the seminar to recieve the free cruise, I was told this was a promotion for their company so if you were satisfied, tell your friends. Well if someone is promoting their services, in a free travel package why would they not have their own agents handling the travel booking... Because the package is really a LURE. If you are trying to open a hamburger stand and you are giving away free hamburgers to drum up some business, are you going to promote your hamburger or would you run to Mc Donalds and have them provide all the free burgers... Of course if you are legit, you would promote your own, after all you want people to know your hamburger is the best. To give out McDonalds hamburgers would be a LURE, A FRAUD, DECEPTIVE AND SCAMMY! OK enough with the hamburgers, i think you get the point.

Another flag was thrown, when he said they had been in business for over 20 years. Then why now are you having a promotion, you should have a huge customer base and if you are legit and do good business, you wouldnt need a promo after 20 years unless you were promoting a new service. Promos are usually for new business or new goods or new membership incentives. He then said they had an A rating from the BBB. The certificate he showed us was something i could have typed up on a word processor. And as it turned out that was just what it was. My husband and i left without purchasing anything with a promise to come back after checking our finances. When i got home i looked on the BBB website and guess what... No A rating. No rating at all!!! It said not enough information about that business has been gathered to produce a rating. So the certificate that was shown to us at the seminar was a complete LIE. This company is running the EXACT same scam as American Voyager and the salesman in the seminar slipped and said the company was known under another name and I now can not remember the other name. Another red flag. How many names do you need for one company. SO EVERYONE PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT EXCLUSIVE GETAWAYS IS JUST ANOTHER NAME WITH THE SAME OLE SCAM.

I think i am going back up there and post a sign on the grass where you enter the parking lot (only one small entrance) where everyone can see. TRAVEL SEMINAR SCAM!!!

THANK GOD FOR consumer complaints!!! It just confirmed all the red flags i caught from the seminar.
