My husband won this certificate for a free trip to his choice of 3 destinations. This trip included hotel and free airfare. We were so excited. When we called they said they could upgreade our trip to a free cruise for only $20.00. So that is what we did. Today I called to book our " free " cruise, only to be told it would be $198.00 per person for the port charges and taxes. I explained that this cruise is only $229.99 per person plus $60.93 for port fee's and taxes directly thru the cruise line that there is no way that the port fee's were that much. "Oh, our brochure says port fee's plus miscellanies charges", stated the Travel America employee.
So this is no free cruise or just a cruise that you pay your own port charges. They are making a mint, plus the money they make getting these company's to buy these " free" vacations to give away. This is a scam! This is no " free" trip. Company's please, stay away from these promotional give aways, my husband won this one at his job at General Motors, it had been donated by a chevy dealership here in Indiana.
