Days Inn Panama City
Rude, disrespectful, GM and corporate will not contact me to resolve after multiple attempts Ripoff

I stayed at this Days Inn in Panama City with my wife for $169.00 per night plus tax of $17.87 X 5 nights. I was visiting my Father in my home town. I was in the process of transferring to a new duty station for the military. On our last day as we were trying to check out the elevator at the 625 stack was broken. There was no sign stating such. It was right outside our room so it was the obvious choice. We loaded all of our stuff inside and pressed the button, the door closed and the elevator did nothing. I pressed the button a few more times still nothing. Finally I tried to get out of the elevator to use another one on the other side of the hotel and the doors wouldn't open. So I spent about 5 minutes in this unair-conditioned elevator before the doors finally opened.

I decided to go to the other elevator. I get on the elevator and try to go to the first floor. My luggage cart, my wife and myself fill up the elevator. It stops on the second floor where the lobby is. Some employee there rudly tells me to get my ASS and My JUNK off of the elevator. I comply and get off of the elevator. My wife informs him that one of the elevators is broken, states that he is aware, and she tells him he should probably put up a sign so that other people know other than us 3, he tells us "I will hande the management of this hotel." Turns out there is an ambulance crew on the way so we have to clear the elevator. That's understandable, Very rude but understandable. The EMT's arrive and get in the elevator. This employee stands there and blocks both of the elevators while there are at least 10 people waiting for the elevator. My check out time is in less than 20 minutes and i still have to load my car. I ask how long it will be until I can use an elevator and He tells me he has been holding the elevator for me for the past 10 minutes. Would have been nice for him to tell me while i'm standing around sweating in the florida summer heat. I try to get in the smaller elevator and my wife all my stuff and myself do not fit. I take off my bag and hand it over the cart when it slips out of my hand. The same employee gets in my face and begins threatening me telling me how he will make DAMN sure i get to spend an extra week in Panama City At his expense when he calls the Sheriffs office. Now had I not been carrying a bag with "U.S. Coast Guard" written on it I would had loved to have seen how this scenario would have played out considering that I am a Federal Law Enforcement Officer myself and that I had 6 witnesses to what happened. He then told me "You need just go back where you came from because I don't want your business!" I told him that I am from Panama City. I then said "You are a disgrace to Panama City and all of Bay county. I kept my mouth shut and pressed the button to go to the next floor down. I began loading my car and he showed up to stare at me while i did it. I asked him what his name was. He told me a name. I went to the front desk and asked to speak to his manager. I was told no one by that name works here. I then asked to speak to the general manager I was told he was off that day. As this was happening he walked in looking for me. I asked the woman at the front desk what his name was and she told me his name is Chuck Barnard. I asked for a business card of the General Manager. His Name is Billy Alam. Everytime I call I am told he is not in. When I ask when he will be in I am told no one knows. When I leave messages I get no response. This has been going on for over a month now.

This is right off of the Days Inn website:
The Days Inn team has been working hard to create a sensational lodging experience for our guests by adding unique and refreshing amenities to every guest room. We've also taken note of the fact that Days Inn guests value excellent customer service above all else. We're happy to tell you that the spirit of hospitality is alive and well at Days Inn.

Days Inn independent owners and operators believe that guest service is fundamental to their mission as innkeepers.

There was even a plackard in my room that said they would do anything within their power to ensure that me stay was an enjoyable one.

Sounds like a complete Crock of S#! ^ to me!!! Sounds like services were not rendered as promissed or as they should have been!

In the end it turns out that the Ambulance was at the wrong Hotel. Shouldn't a hotel associate go to the room while the ambulance is on the way, if they know the ambulance is coming they know there is an emergency. What if someone was bleeding uncontrolably, or needed CPR, or maybe it is nothing. Someone from the hotel should access the situation, if not only to save a life, for legal reasons in case someone sues at least the hotel knows as much as possible. On my third night in the hotel there was a fire in the palm trees outside my room 6 floors below. I watched the employees try to put it out with fire extinguishers. I went downstairs via the elevator and told one of them they should use the fire hose (thank you military training) the guy asked me where it was. I showed him and he couldn't open it. I got it open and handed him the end of the hose and energized the fire station for him.

After this I was treated as common street trash in this hotel. I have told everyone I know that travels to not stay at Days Inn. I Started a complaint with the corporate office of Days Inn they told me that the manager of Days Inn Panama City would contact me by the 5th of august I still have heard nothing. I am also in the porcess of filling out a claim with the Better Bussiness Bureau. And I am starting the process of having the Hotel placed on the Military Blacklist so that other military members cannot be ripped off by them, since services as promised were not rendered. This statment is going to be e-mailed and mailed to Days Inn Panama City, as well as Days Inn corporate, the BBB, the Military, the Panama City Business License Division, Bay county Chanber of Commerce, and any other place I feel it may be of benefit for people to no be treated the way my wife and I were.

They stated they did not want my business but they charged my wifes credit card $934.35. If that is not a rip off I don't know what is!!!
