My wife and I decided to cancel by calling Gus at the Macomb Township, MI (Phone: 586-228-8770) location who also talked us into this membership. We were told we could cancel at anytime by Gus, Larry and Adam if we did not use the package. They never specified a cancellation procedure or length of time to cancel.

Received a call from a lady at GVN. She asked me to verify my name, address, amount paid, and gave me a membership ID. I guess I was nice because I waited till she was done to say that I told Gus I had cancelled.

I called my Credit card company about the charge. They told me to write this note as I still saw it on mt credit card account.

I called Gus at Global Discoveries and told him again I wanted to cancel. He gave me the run around and said he would tell the Operations Manager who will call me next week sometime and it would be taken care of.

Lady from GD called me telling me they were able get us a place in Steamboat, CO. Lady said it was called The Village. I was nice and laughed at her and said but we cancelled the membership 6-23 with Gus. Lady asked if I was still interested in Steamboat, COI said NO, I CANCELLED the membership.

Gus Called. He talked about Steamboat, CO. I told Gus we had cancelled and I thought he took care of that. He told me he did not want anyone to be unhappy and that he would again email the Operations Manager to have HIM contact me. I asked Gus to just refund us the monies to our credit card; he claimed he could not do that as he was not authorized to do so. Again I told Gus we just want this CANCELLED.

She told me we had to call GD at (913) 451-0960 and ask for a Contract/Agreement to be mailed to me.
I called the (913) 451-0960 number for Global Discoveries. I told the lady that I cancelled the membership on 6-23 with Gus. She claimed I needed to mail a form in and all this before the 3-day deadline. I told her Gus informed me that I could cancel over the phone, so did Adam and so did Larry (Manager). They told me I could cancel anytime repeatedly during our sales pitch. I asked for my contract/agreement and she went around with how I did not cancel within the time frame. I just kept repeating that I talked to Gus on 6-23. I told her to just mail me the contract so I could look at itshe seemed unwilling but claimed she would do it.
I called Kristina back and told her about GDs reply to me:
Kristina put me on hold and talked to her boss. They decided to credit me back the full amount as Kristina said they think they are shady. Kristina said the merchant still has another 60 days to dispute my chargeback claim with PROOF.
I called Global Discoveries:
Gus is out, won't be in for an hour. Talked to 'Clint' he said he actually works the cancellation. He told me not to worry. I told him I was worried. He claimed the call is recorded so either way they will be giving me a refund back and Gus will be calling me when he gets in.

Called Gus at 5:45pm: He was Busy and would call me back.
Gus called at 7:00pm: Asked what he could do for me. I told him I called earlier and talked to Clint and was told that he could refund my money. Gus said it was out of his hands, I told him no one ever calls, and repeated what Clint told me of cancelling and that it would be NO PROBLEM.
Gus then transferred me to 'Clint'. I told Clint all I wanted to do was cancel a month ago. He said it looks like they never got a notice, I told him I cancelled with Gus on 6-23. Clint says not to worry that Marty Perkins (Vice President) will call me tomorrow to work something outI'm asked by Clint if it is a money issue and I said YES, and in general a whole bad experience. Why should I tell them why I want to cancel? A reason what not part of the 3 day deal that magically appeared. I once again said that I just wanted to CANCEL. I told Clint that many people were goign to call me and no one ever does. He says Marty Perkins WILL call me. I won't hold my breath.
I rather GVN just chargesback my credit card... But I have a feeling they are up to something. Yeah, VISA gave me the money back, but what stuff will GVN whip up. The one lady at (913) 451-0960 already gave me a run around and seemed to want to use me being nice on 6-26 against me although me saying YES to a few questions and not fighting with her was not going to solve a thing. For Example I paid my car insurance close tot he due date, but their system already mailed out the late / NO insurance notice to me. I figured GVN just did not get the cancellation at that point yet throughout their system *shrug*
