Misleads consumers with hotel reviews ripoff

For some reason certain hotels on Expedia seem exempt from having critical reviews written about them. The first time this happened to me was in 2005 when in San Francisco my girlfriend and I literally had to walk out of a disgusting hotel, and even though Expedia did nothing to help us, and the hotel charged us anyway we were unable to leave a review of the hotel to warn other travelers.

The next time this happened was when I traveled to NM. The hotel had failed to maintain the pool and I felt deceived especially since in a review from 2 months before, another travler mentioned the hot tub being out of order. My most recent attempt ironically was when I was going to leave a glowing review for the Marriot Warner Center.

I was leaving it a 5 rating in all categories but in my tips to travlers I warned of the obnoxious valet parkers demanding keys even for people self parking. For some reason that review was deleted, and I have actually seen scores change on the hotel with the same two reviews. I think I saw a third one and now there are only two again.

In any case my experience is proof enough of deceptive marketing because Expedia gives the appearance that it allows unhindered ratings of hotels by actual travelers. When I have sent emails to Expedia, all I get back are form letters telling me how to leave a review.
