We booked a 2 day stay at the Travelodge Monaco in Miami. The photos on the internet showed a beautiful hotel; clearly a place anyone would be happy to stay during their vacation. Upon our arrival we soon recognized that the photos on the website of this particular hotel must be 100 years old, because the hotel looked absolutely nothing like the advertised photographs! The service rendered was horrendous, and the conditions were totally deplorable.
The hotel looked like an abandoned apartment where one would find homeless people sheltering/squatting. The building needed proper cleaning, painting, and debugging. Upon entrance to my room I was completely shocked! The carpet was extremely filthy, and the refrigerator was broken. The fire alarm was also broken and hanging. The tub was filthy, and one could clearly see cracking plaster on the wall. Not forgetting, the room smelled like something died!
