We rented a cabin for the weekend 7/14 to 7/16/06, we accidentally broke the bedroom window glass and called Hills O' Brown Property to let them know what happened and what they wanted us to do. We were told thanks for calling and they would contact the owner of the cabin and the damages would be charged to our credit card.
On August 16th they charged my credit card for 506.80, what I got in the mail was a piece of paper they typed up and had whited out a couple of the amounts and wrote in different amounts. One reciept was attached dated 8/3 for one sash pack and screen for 296.80.
The typed paper is charging us for a screen frame which they put 25.00.60.00 for a piece of plexiglas, 55.00 for milage and travel/time waiting, which he claims was 3 hours. And 70.00 for new window deliver and install. We was told they would replace the glass in the lower sash, instead the owner has bought an upper and lower sash kit, screen and screen frame.By the way, we didn't damage the screen in any way.
My husband has contacted them through e-mail on several occasions questioning why it took so long to fix and why he bought a whole new window and charged us an unreasonable amount. The manager didnt want to be bothered anymore so she assigned it to the assisant manager which in return she said the amount was more then fair we could of been charged even more.
Me and my husband have been asking for them to mail or even fax the invoice or reciepts for all of the other charges that they typed up and at this point we are still getting the run around and have not received anything from them except for smart ass e-mails and lies, because on 7/19 the e-mail we received said the owner put plexiglas in until the window man can get the double pane back in. They not only have ripped us off they also lack customer service skills, they are extremely rude, untrusting and apparently have fabicated all the other charges.
