I would like to suggest you check out a hotel called the Spanish Trails in Mesquite, Texas. We stopped in for a night, were given directions to our room, "your room faces our old restaurant" (notice that they do not tell us not to park there.)
We parked one vehicle on the lot connecting to the room about 30 feet from us, and the other one just in front of it on the old restaurant parking (there is a little step up) So our vehicles are about 5ft apart. There are no visible signs from the hotel saying not to park there (we were not really looking for any since the hotel had told us it was there old restaurant).
We awoke at 6am to find our suburban missing! We called the front desk, told them our vehicle was stolen and asked to be connected with the police. WE filed a report and contacted our insurance company (we had just purchased the vehicle that day).
The police called back later to report that they had found our vehicle... It had been towed (AJ's Towing)! My husband went around to the office to ask why they had not told us not to park on that part of the lot. They were unconcerned and were"kind" enough to give him the name and number of the towing company! Is there something going on here???!!!
My husband finally found a sign on a tree on the opposite side of the building with branches over it and two other small signs. NONE on the hotel parking side. The alarms never went off on our vehicle. These people knew that they had to be quiet and they knew how to tow without setting of the alarm. We were out $186.00 to the holding yard (S & J Storage) and the hotel never even offered an apology.
I really think that these businesses are somehow connected and have a scam running that benefits both the hotel and the towing and storage facility.
