Complaint / Review
French Quarter, Grand Regency
Ripoff Poor Customer Service

Earlier this year, maybe February, my roommate and I were contacted by French Quarter to set up a 3 night/2 day stay. They had my information from one of their promotional sweepstakes that I must have filled out on-line. We made the hellish 10-12 hour drive there and were given what I guess was a Presidential suite to stay in the night we arrived.

The next day, we had a devil of a time finding someplace to eat. Even the ratty Dairy Queen was closed due to off-season. We were running out of time, so we had to go locate Grand Regency for the sales presentation.

We arrived maybe thirty minutes early. But instead of giving us their pitch right then, they made us wait. And I'm not someone that can handle low blood sugar levels for very long.

When we were finally allowed into the sales pitch room, we were shown to a table after procuring a hot drink and some cookies. Well, the sales person was very demanding about how much money I made in a year. She went to check her computer and got very snotty in my face about it. I'm self-employed, so that means there will be good or bad years. And quite frankly, isn't it *illegal* to check out someone's financial records without their consent?

After she got done hounding me, I told her point blank we were here for their flipping sweepstakes. She finally gave me the scratch ticket, which turned out to be the worst possible vacation package voucher I've ever seen! I'd have been better off paying for that Florida vacation out of pocket, as it were. And that snotty sales person said, "Well, everyone else has been winning the vehicle, " as if suggesting she'd deliberately given me a scratch ticket that was practically worthless.

Worst of all, these gits would only give me a voucher for the previous night's stay. We had to leave the resort that day! What happened to the 3 nights and 2 days? I don't remember seeing *any* legalese that specifically stated you had to sit through their boiler room, high-pressure sales pitch just to stay there for the full duration! I was humilated, sent into a depressive spiral, and I hope that Grand Regency/French Quarter rots!

To anyone that receives a promotional call from French Quarter/Grand Regency: tell them you're not interested and hang up. You're doing yourself a *big* favor. You don't need the hassle of high-pressure sales for stuff you don't need anyway, and you sure don't need to expose yourself to some nasty, in-your-face salesperson that knows diddly about how to treat customers properly.
