I am another consumer ripped off by Cheaptrips.com. They called and offered me 4 free airline tickets, and a $100.00 rebate if I booked with them. They charged me $108.95 for a "lifetime" membership.
I was unable to view their website until I received their packet with pin number in the mail. When I did receive it, I checked out the website, it was awful. Very bad HTML, and no links on how I was to book my 4 free flights.
The "free" flights were not really free at all. You have to book with their hotels, and stay from 7-10 nights. The hotels are WAY overpriced. And when I looked up many of them, they were fully booked for more than a year at a time. ALSO, their listed room rates were less than half of what cheaptrips was charging.
I tried calling the VIP (hahaha) number and was put on hold for more than 45 minutes. When I finally did get through to cancel my membership, (the information provided on the phone and in print said I could, and get a full refund if I did it within 45 days), I was told I had to send the whole intro packet back, which I promptly did, return receipt requested. They received it and signed for it.
Do I have my refund? No, I sure don't! Don't be conned by these people!
