On 5.14.05 I received a phone call from a Cheaptrips.com sales rep. She told me I could get up to 4 free airplane tickets. I asked what the catch was and she said all I had to do was buy 2 plane tickets and 4 were free. She also said she had to charge my account $99.00 and I would get that back when I made reservations. She said I would be receiving an info packet in the mail within 7-10 days. On 5.16.05 I was charged 108.95 which put me in the negative so I got a $30.00 charge from my bank.
On 6.8.05 I typed in Cheaptrips.com into a search engine and saw a complaint on usacomplaints.com. I immediately tried to find a number I could call on their website but could not find one. I called a number on one of the rip-off complaints and finally reached a customer service rep. She told me I had to write a letter to Cheaptrips.com requesting a refund within 45 days.
It is already been almost a month and I'm even sure that they will read it in time. I have learned a valuable lesson from this experience. The next time someone tries to sell me something too good to be true I'm walking away or hanging up.
