Hello. I just got had an experience with these scam artists from the so-called ramada plaza resorts!!! First of all, to Jennifer Hastie, the employee who had the audacity to come on here and say it was Troy's mistake, not her company's. I don't know what info you have lady, but YOUR companies sales people DEFINENTLY do tell people that anyone who joins you on your cruise aside from the 2 "lucky" winners, has to pay an additional $198 dollars. When your company oh so kindly throws in the extra vegas and mexico trips, it is 15-20 dollars extra PER DAY PER PERSON for vegas, and 25-30 dollars a day per person for mexico.
For everyone else, don't get sucked into this scam! My sister recieved a letter in the mail with a credit voucher that looked alot like a cheque. She phoned the company while I was at work where she was transferred to a girl named Doris, who is aparently a manager for Ramada Plaza resorts. Because I wasn't there, and you have to have your travelling companion there when you call, Doris linked up with me (did a 3 way call) with me while I was at work. I couldn't come to the phone. Doris then proceeded to tell my sister that she was going to call back around 7:30 eastern time, when I got home. She told my sister that she could get into alot of trouble because you can only do the one call, but she was willing to risk it and call back.
When I got home, she called, and tried to sell me this $698 package which included a trip to the bahamas, vegas, and mexico. I had a friend look on the net for this sort of site before Doris called us back, and she found this site. Doris DID keep me on the phone for about 20 minutes before she asked for my credit card number. I promptly told her I wasn't comfortable giving out my credit card number over the phone to some stranger.
She began to try and cajole me. She asked me why I didn't want to give her my card number, and I told her about this site and these complaints. She proceeded to tell me that it was not her company, and that there are fake companies out there using the Ramada name. She argued with me for another ten minutes to try and get me to give her my card number. I finally told her that, as she wanted a decision this minute about my "great deal", that my answer was no as I wasn't able to check out this site for myself before I mada a decision. She promptly gave me numbers of people I could call to verify her comapany. She also told me that she could get into alot of trouble for this, but she would give me a call the next day to give me time to check her and her company out. She made sure to give me a little guilt trip about how she could lose her job because of me, but she "Hated to see you pass up a great deal like this for the wrong reasons." That was a direct quote from her.
Before she let me go, she also attempted to sweeten the pot by telling me that she could get me an even better deal, to be right on the beach, if I do this.
This was the biggest load of crap! This Doris acted as if I was an idiot for not wanting to give her my card number! And to hound me for TEN MINUTES about it, what a joke! Please, do not get ripped off on this sham, and to all the people who put these adds up here, THANK YOU!!! You saved me and mysister from being sucked into this line of bull!
