Ripoff, Rude, not friendly, liars

I have family, my mother-in-law and father-in-law visiting from England, and they really wanted to visit Los Angeles.

We have had a hard year, lost our home and everything in it, and are barely scraping by right now, but it's their 25th anniversary, and we've only seen them once in the 7 years we've been married.

We offered to treat them, and ourselves to a trip to L.A.
I found this company online and booked hotel rooms from them at a wonderful price. As soon as I gave them the credit card #, and my info, I was sent a confirmation e-mail saying that not only were my rooms reserved, but that they had charged my credit card.

Here it is:
Dear J* A*,

Thanks for reserving your Hotel with starLAhotels.com

Your booking request (Booking ID SLH1AUG05*) has been confirmed and your credit card has been charged.
Please click on the link below to access your Hotel Voucher and Receipt/Invoice:

The payment will appear on your credit card statement as starLAhotels.com. Please check your voucher & invoice and let us know immediately if there are any discrepancies.

If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact us.

Well, later that night after a long day at work, much of it actually spent searching for hotels, I had told everyone of the great deal we got, and we were all excited. Then I got a call from Bonnie at starLAhotels.com. I missed the call and called her right back.

From the first she was cold and rude, I said: "Hi, this is * *, you just called and I'm calling you back." And here it goes...

Bonnie: We sent you an e-mail, your reservation didn't go through.
Me: What? But, you sent me a confirmation and said you'd charged my card.
Bonnie: No we didn't, we don't send confirmations, and we didn't send you one. We did send you an e-mail that said your reservation didn't go through.
Me: But I've got the confirmation in my hand right now. It says...
Bonnie: It says nothing, we didn't send it to you, don't you check your e-mails, we sent one saying it didn't go through!
Me: But, I don't understand.
Bonnie: What is there to understand, we sent you an e-mail that said it didn't go through, there are no rooms, and you won't get any for this weekend. (Keep in mind, that I was never sent an e-mail from her that said anything but that I had reservations and they'd charged the card, I checked my in-box and spam folders, nothing.)
(Here I start to get mad, really mad at the horrible way she was being)
Me: I f-ing booked the trip and now your saying I don't have rooms?
Bonnie: I'm not going to talk to you anymore. Click.

I couldn't believe it, after the year I've had, finally something had been good, and now it was crap. She never offered to help me at all, she started off defensive and rude as h*ll.

I sat there with my whole family looking at me dumbfounded. I couldn't believe her attitude.

I calmed down a little and tried calling her back about a half hour later to see if she could help me get a room somewhere else, here's how this one went:

Me: Hi, Bonnie, this is * *...
Bonnie: I'm not talking to you. Click.

Wow, some customer service. I haven't checked to see if they charged the card or not, but most places like this usually charge it as soon as you book, and had sent me a conformation that said they had charged the card. It will be disputed.

I obviously would not recommend this company and in fact think they should close down with service like that.
