Royal Vacations
Complete rip-off and scam!

I am from the east coast, and my fiance' is from CA. He raves about Vegas and wanted to take me. We decided to take a 2 wk vacation there, and upon parusing the strip was approached by a young lady regarding free Vegas-styled night shows. Ultimately, this turned out to be a time-share offer. My experiences with RCI travel/Nassau, Bahamas (West Wind Clubs) were positive, so "timeshare" does not leave a bad taste in my mouth (at least it didn't at that time).

We sat through the presentation, but decided against purchasing as the Royal Casino was off the strip, and a Vegas vacation is not hard to afford. After some persuading we were told we could pop one of the promotional balloons, and if we liked the prize they would "throw that in" as well if we decided to buy.

We popped a balloon and it included an 8 day/7 night all expense paid trip to Hawaii. Well, my fiance' was born in HI, and we wanted to go back to visit, so... At this point... We were kind of sold, but still waivering. So... Michelle (the salesperson) and her Dad, the sales manager threw in AN EXTRA 1 week stay anywhere the vacation package is offered. We were sold. 3 weeks of vacation anywhere for $1000. I whipped out the credit card, and we signed the docs.

We decided on a trial membership for $1000, for one bdrm accomodations. All of the extras were HANDWRITTEN into the preprinted contract, we were told we would receive all of the vacation catalogs, discount coupons on rental cars, food, etc in the mail. All we would need to do is stay at the Royal Casino 3 days/2 nights before using any of the other amenities.

Well... Long story short... HI was not all expense paid, we had to use their airline, pay a transportation fee, and some other fees, and their trip in turn was more expensive than a package deal we purchased through a travel agent.

The only thing I received in the mail was a notice from a collections agency regarding my failure to pay (which mind you I paid in full at the time of signing). I had to jump through hoops to prove I had paid for the package. The "PAID IN FULL" on the contract wasn't enough I guess.

Also, whenever my fiance' and I would call about possible trips they never had accomodations available, or they didn't service that area... It was just a freaking headache!!! Needless to say our contract expired, we never got a single item of service offered on this 3 weeks vacation, although my fiance' and a friend stayed in that flea bag of a hotel for the required 3 day/2 nite stay.

As an additional note; when I originally called to collect on the HI vacation, I was told the handwriting on the contract was null, that there never was an employee named Michelle, so they had no clue who "DAD" was... UUUGGHHHH, my blood pressure boils thinking about it. I am not the type to sue, so I have chalked this one up as a learning experience. Never again!!! But... Please... Beware of these people if you are ever in Vegas. They are a SHAM, SCAM, and RIP-OFF!!!
