I took a trip from Boston to Sacramento and decided to ride Greyhound. The trip from Boston to Philadelphia was good. From Philadelphia I found the bus depots dirty and confusing. Due to a lack of proper signage, employees who didn%u2019t know or have the proper information, customer s were running around like crazy. Customers were getting on wrong buses, luggage wasn%u2019t put on the right buses, etc. I also had to changes buses three times due to mechanical problems causing major delays. The third bus broke down on a dark highway in Utah at 11:30 PM, leaving 17 passengers stranded for more than three hours. We were finally picked up by another bus and taken to Salt Lake City where we found out that there was no connecting bus for us until 11:30 am the next morning. We were not offered any lodging and we had to sleep either on the metal seats or the floor. I finally arrived in Sacramento, CA at 11:30pm 12 hours later than expected. If I had arrived when I was scheduled 11am I would have had a representative from the rental co waiting for me, but because of the late hour they couldn%u2019t come out. Again I found myself stranded, and when I spoke w/the Greyhound staff they advised that they couldn%u2019t help me other than calling a cab for me. I did contact their customer service dept in Dallas and requested a partial refund.initially I was told that when I purchased the tickets there was an %u201Cexpectation%u201D that I would arrive to my destination in three days which I did. I countered by stating that I too had expectations, that I would arrive on time to my destination, I would arrive safe and I wouldn%u2019t have to sleep in a bus depot on the floor. I was given a partial refund at this point. My biggest complaint is the employee%u2019s that I dealt with, they were rude at times and unsympathetic to the issues at hand. I can speak for myself and the people who were on this journey with that we will never use Greyhound again. Also to add insult to injury I was pick-pocketed of $170.00 while I slept on one of the buses
