My mother took a greyhound across new Mexico to visit my brother. We were assured by a very nice and courteous driver that greyhounds had o stay within a schedule with twenty minutes leeway. An HOUR after the bus was due to arrive my brother became concerned and called me. We were worried over the fact that my mother is disabled as well as a diabetic. I called EVERY number listed on the greyhound website, as well as EVERY station along the route. The only number I was able to get a person on was the number to assist customers with disabilities. The man I spoke to was very hard to understand, and he politely but promptly told me that if the stations wouldn't answer their phones, I was out of luck because it was not their job to monitor buses. I fnd it inconceivable that in this day and age, a company as large as greyhound doesn't have a 24/7 emergency number. This company is entrusted with people's loved ones, I find their lack of respect for that fact completely galling. Needless to say, I will be calling in to work to make the nine hour drive to pick my mother up, because I will NEVER trust her with greyhound again.
