I am currently on board a Greyhound bus from Baltimore to NYC that departed at 7:30 AM, and it got a flat tire at 9 AM near the University of Delaware in Newark, DE. The bus driver said that it would take 2-3 HOURS TO HAVE A REPAIRMAN COME REPLACE THE FLAT TIRE (a 10 minute job). She gave us the other option of taking a bus all the way back to baltimore just to try to catch another bus to nyc. This is absolutely unacceptable, and I am shocked that Greyhound expects our delay to be nearly as long as the trip to NYC itself. When I called the customer service line and finally was able to speak with a live person after 10 minutes of waiting, THE CUSTOMER SALES AGENT IMMEDIATELY HUNG UP ON ME AS I STARTED EXPLAINING THE SITUATION. As an apparently leading bus line in the U.S., I cannot believe that Greyhound is incapable of sending a repairman to fix a flat tire sooner than 2-3 HOURS.
