I recently made hotel reservations from priceline.com. I made an offer for 60$ and my offer was accepted by Hilton in Del Mar San Diego. However, when I reached there I noticed that there is a charge of 11$ parking per night which was not mentioned anywhere on the priceline.com website. With the priceline method, you quote a price and they will automatically book the hotel if any hotel is willing to accept that price. So as a customer I don't have a choice of hotel to pick. I am ok with that except these hidden charges which they don't tell me about. If I had known that there is a parking fee I would have gone to another hotel that is much cheaper. My question is today they are charging extra for parking and tommorrow it will be for using the restrooms in the room -:)
This is a total ripoff considering the fact that the hotel is located in an area that is not very crowded. It is just a way to lure customers to their hotel and then slap these extra charges knowing well they can't do anything about it.
