Greyhound staff's rudeness and arrogance

The rudeness and arrogance of the Greyhound staff is appalling.
When my wife had explained, how, during her long bus ride from New York to Miami in the driver abandoned the bus at 2AM because he did not like the way a passenger spoke to him, I had wondered if it was only a one-off incident - though in no country can one experience such audacity by a service staff as to leave passengers stranded on the road middle of night!
I experienced this arrogance and rudeness first hand when I travelled Cleveland to Columbus on 21st May and back the same day. While outbound to Columbus, the large lady staff literally howled at me and shooed me away (I am 58, and a tourist on first visit to US) when I inquired which gate should I queue for my bus. On my return, since we had another 20 minutes for departure time, I got down and informed the driver standing at the entrance to bus-station that am just going to buy a water bottle and be back in a minute; he treated me like a school boy and ordered me '.. You will get in the bus. Now...'. I was taken aback and even gave him misplaced benefit of doubt that he might have meant I will 'get water in the bus'. Should Greyhound management care to know, I took 8:05 AM bus from Cleveland and 8:45PM bus from Columbus.
Lastly, the less said about the rest room condition, the better.
After reading a few other comments describing similar behaviour, am convinced this has been the culture in this company. The Greyhound staff should stop behaving like literal hounds and realise they are in employment because of us %u2013 the fare paying passengers.
But for my Greyhound experience, I have hitherto enjoyed every bit of my two and a half weeks in US so far and have immense respect for the big hearted people here.
