Imperial Majesty Regal Empress Cruise Line Ripoff Dishonest crew aboard ship

This was my first cruise ever. The ship experience was not as bad as I had expected but the staff and crew members were not forth coming about the excursions that they advertised.

This cruise was to the Bahamas for two days, traveling on Thanksgiving day. We must have sat out on the water all night just to take a half hour cruise to the island which was a waist of time to me.

The crew members raved about the excursion to the Blue Lagoon (which I have been to before) so I thought it might be a good idea to try it again with the glass bottom boat package for $55.

When we got to the island, the pathway to part of the island was roped off and you could only go a certain distance. Then the stingray center on the other side was closed as well.

Next the paddle boats and other water activities were not running. We were told the area was under renovation. So we basically paid $55 for a buffet lunch and a boat ride.

The Host kept saying, "don't leave the boat without anything to do, this is the best excursion". They knew this island was not functioning. It was too cold to swim so thank goodness for the volley ball we found. I felt that was very dishonest of them.

They also train their waiters to harrass you to buy drinks constantly and I could barely taste the Rum. They discouraged you from buying liquor on the island stating you could only bring back 4 ounces.

We learned from the islanders about the Carribbean and USA act agreed upon regarding how much liquor you could take home so that was untrue.

If you brought liquor on the island and tried to bring it on the boat or purchase it on the boat, they lock it up and return it to you when you leave the boat so you can purchase from their bar only.

I found that the staff was not knowledgable about how to get to certain events on the boat or what was going on, they just worked doing what they were responsible so you found yourself lost occasionally.

It wasn't bad for the price but it is an out of date boat and they need to be honest about their excursions. I at least know I can handle a bigger boat because I did not get sick.

If you are willing to try this cruise for the sake of saving money, then fine but if you go to The Bahamas, grab an inexpensive taxi for about $60 and for the day they will give you a tour of the city and take you to Paradise Island even to spend time which would have been much more fun along with shopping.
