I have just recieved a bill from E-470 for an original toll fee of $1.25, however the bill is now $75.00!!
I called the service number thinking surely this was some type of clerical error. I explained to the customer service lady that the bill had been being sent to my previous place of employmentwhere I worked two years ago. She said it is not their fault that I never recieved a bill and should havechecked with the DMV to ensure my mailing address was correct. I always thought that was something you do at the post office... Because that is where you update your address.
The only reason I was able to recieve this bill was because a previous co worker / friend noticed it atwork & forwarded it to me. The kicker is, when I called, the lady said the fee is actually froman unpaid toll in June. I explained how that wasn't even on this bill & I had never recieved that one either. So here I have a $75.00 fee that I cannot afford to pay.
They told me this was going to go on my credit report. If also like to mention if your new to the area, it's not even clear that you are on a toll road. They simply snap a picture of your license plate, find some random old address for you & start billing you.
So just to recap, my original fine was $1.25 now they are demanding my paymentOf $75.00.
There is no way I can afford to pay this and I will be sure to tell everyone and anyonewho mentions the word driving, denver, toll or anything remotely related about this literal highwayrobbery scam. I will also NEVER drive on E-470 again. I will happily pay the original fee, but OVER MY DEAD body will they get a penny more. This is morally wrong & needs to be stopped!
