Century International Arms
CIA sold rifle as new but it arrived damaged. CIA attempted repair and damaged rifle further. CIA sent back item to customer with original components missing. CIA kept components for themselves

I purchased this new rifle from a private dealer made by Century International Arms on 7-16-12 for $800. The rifle had never been fired. From the time I opened the box both magazines were very difficult to fit into receiver well. I took the rifle to two different dealers for a second opinion. They both agreed that this was an issue that should be corrected. I called Century Arms and was given the option of a credit or repair. I would honestly prefer a full refund. With a credit I stand to loose over $200 dollars.in addition it would be difficult for me to purchase another item because I would need to go through two different middle men. With a repair I was originally asked to pay for shipping (approximately $30 or more).

The fact that a new $800 rifle functions in this manor is troubling to say the least.in order to determine if I could exchange the rifle for another model, Mandy (a customer service rep) originally put me in touch with a female supervisor. This conversation took place on 8-2-12 at approximately 6:30am PST. This staff member was extremely inappropriate with me on the phone. She ended the conversation by stating, this conversation has expired and then disconnected the telephone. This upset me deeply as both a consumer and a professional. I did not get this employees name or title but Mandy will very likely be able to identify her. I emailed Mandy and left a voicemail asking that this employee contact me and apologize for this unwarranted behavior. No one ever followed up. I sent the rifle in for repair and received it back in about 2 weeks. I had never fired the rifle and was planning to sell it as new once I received it. All CIA had to do was send back a rifle with two magazines that fit properly.

What I received was a rifle with dings, knicks, and scratches all over the wood furniture from someone improperly handling it. They fired the rifle several times with poor ammunition. They also kept the two magazines that I sent them and sent back one magazine that barley fit and one the was covered in rust and oil. This mag. Could did not fit or accept ammo.

I took the rifle to 3 different gunsmiths who verified my concerns. The series of dings and knicks all along the inferior aspect of the lower hand guard looked like they were made by someone either carelessly removing magazines from the receiver or improperly positioning the rifle on a hard surface while working on it. The wood furniture was in prestine (new) condition when I sent CIA the rifle. Both magazines fit poorly but were at least clean and new.in summary the rifle is now used (had 30 rounds of ammo fired through it) and has cosmetic damage.

I contacted CIA several times and was not contacted back. Nothing has been done by anyone to resolve this issue. I took matters into my own hands and sold the rifle as used loosing over $200. I never had an opportunity to fire the rifle once my self. Do not ever buy anything from this company.
