I purchased a boat from the Boat House in Cape Coral Florida in October.
At the time of purchase, Al Lewis, the Sales Manager at the Boat House provided me with a computer print out that showed engine hours on the engine attached to the boat I was purchasing at 729 hours.
5 months later when I took the boat in for service at my local marina, they also connected it to the computer and found out that it in fact had 1079 hours.
I compared the print out from both places and found the serial number on the paperwork provided by Mr Lewis was also incorrect.
Further, I found out that the engine had previously had very significant poor quality repairs to it. The powerhead had failed and had been "repaired" with a JB Weld type of substance. This failure and subsequent poor repair has lead to the power head and adapter plate to fail again requiring replacement.
