`On June 06, I signed a contract with Fitness Connection. I never used the the membership and decided to cancel. August 14, I mailed the orginal contract along with the membership card via certified mail to the address listed on the contract. P.O. Box 680768. Houston, TX 77268. Prior to cancelling, I visited the location where I signed up and was told that they did not handle cancellation.
My second complaint is, I was debited $16.00 in July for annual mumbership dues, when the contract states an annual fee of $15.00 would be debited on the anniversery date of the following year. I asked for a refund but never received it.
October of my account was still being debited. I contacted my bank and they suggested that I cancel my card and start a new account as this is very common with gym typ memberships.
It is a sad state when a bank has to take that route. On behalf of others who may have gone through this, i am filing a complaint. $15.00 monthy fees can add up when thousands may have experienced this.
March and April I received letters and then telephone calls from Network Collection Services for Non-Payment. They reported me to a collection agency. This was the last straw. I told them that I was going to report them to the Attorny General and not to call me.
