On December 25, I entered into a personal training contract with the Anytime Fitness club at 6300 W. Charleston, Las Vegas, NV. The contract was for $840 and covered 24 sessions, plus 2 bonus sessions. At the time that the club closed (with no notification or communication that it had closed), I had paid $630 towards the personal training sessions and had only used 9 sessions thus far. As such I have $315 in paid sessions that is due to be refunded ($840 / 24 sessions = $35/session; $630 paid - $315 in used sessions ($35 * 9).
I have tried repeatedly to receive a refund with the owner of the store (I have left numerous messages with the owner but haven't received a return call and the corporate office. I've been told by several people at the corporate office (including the director of public/media relations) that nothing can be done because they are the franchisor and not the owner and that they are not obligated to do anything or to apply a credit for personal training at another location. I am very disappointed. I only want the company to do the right thing and to stand by their brand and refund what is owed to me.
Anytime Fitness Corporate has been unresponsive and only states that they will try to contact the owner to seek a refund. Corporate should protect their image and issue a refund (do the right thing).
