Golds Gym Horrible record keeping & customer service. Said my contract is expired but CAN'T PROVE

In January I went to the gym and was told my membership had expired. Knowing that it was impossible, since I had paid for *9* years, the clueless person behind the desk just gave me a number to call. (The number for the very gym I was in!)

I called the number that day, faxed them my American Express statement but upon calling TWO DAYS later, I was told that I "would just have to wait" and that "they were working on it." After a week I got yet another person on the phone and after over a month back and forth on the phone, and they've had all the information since day one, he tells me that my contract is expired... I RE-EXPLAIN EVERYTHING to this person (Robbie) and he says I need PROOF. I tell him to fax me a copy of the contract with my signature and he agrees. The only problem now is that he faxes me a contract from TWO YEARS ago, not my CURRENT contract. He says he'll look for it. I give him two days but NOTHING comes of it and he says he'll speak with his manager.

I ultimately need to call them again last friday (2/13) (as they very nearly never call me back) and was eventually put on the phone with the office manager. Holy cow. She was not only rude and condescending but constantly YELLED at me over the phone. I was never rude to her; I never even raised my voice but even after asking several times for her to stop yelling at me and she continued, then ultimately hung up the phone!

My issue is simple. I paid for a corporate membership which included 9 years (either 9 memberships or less memberships with multiple years, up to three per membership). I have the American Express bills for those charges:

The local Golds Gym keeps asking, while the office manager demanded, that I show a contract with the details. As I am currently unable to find a contract I asked the local Golds Gym to show ME a contract with my signature on it but they were unable. I asked a gentleman (Robbie) if they thought $1809 was a bit much to pay for one year and although he agreed, he could not find anything to support their argument and ultimately he turned the phone over to the rude office manager who insulted me before hanging up the phone.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS GYM. The staff is incompetent and the management is nothing short of incredibly rude and unaccommodating. CLEARLY they're in the wrong and can't prove it but they are unwilling to do ANYTHING about it. Now my only option is to file a complaint with the state, BBB and possibly file for litigation. I'm getting my money back even if they don't agree yet.

They screwed the wrong person with the big mouth.
