I have had a membership with Golds Gym membership for about 2 years; I renewed my contract and adding my wife on the membership about a year ago. The company told me that I could cancel at anytime when I was signing up. That was my only concern when I was renewing my contract.
One year later my wife and I have moved and do not go to the Gym anymore I called Golds Gym to cancel my contract and they ask for address verification with a utility bill and a signed paper stating that I would like to cancel.
I did this, they proceeded to tell me on multiple calls with Golds Gym that they would not cancel the contract even if I paid the $100 cancellation fee, because I had only moved 21.5 miles from another Gym when you have to move 25 miles. I then asked them if there is any way of cancelling the contract and they told me that there was now way but to transfer my membership to someone else and also pay a $100 transfer fee. Ridiculous the whole process and customer service I will never go to, or join another Golds Gym.
