I added a Germany Exchange student on my Golds Gym membership. I inquired about it and they said "no problem". I let them know that she would be moving back to Germany in June. When she moved, I was forced to extend my membership for one year. I was upset, but the manager said they couldn't do anything else and would give me one fee month. I was exhausted with arguing with them and finally gave in.
Now, we are relocating to another town and Golds said that they would need a $100 check to cancel my membership. I—once again—was upset and I asked for the manager. The front desk clerk said he was busy. I asked for the telephone number of the corporate headquarters. I was told they don't have one. I called the billing office at 1.800.882.8300 and was told that is privileged information and they don't have it. The billing department said that they can only say Henderson, NV". Which, in itself, is an indication that Golds Gym has some serious underhanded problems.
