I joined Healthtrax last May, and asked for a month to month membership as I didn't want a year long commitment. I was told that I had a month to month and could cancel at any time with no additional charge as long as I gave them 30 days warning. I decided to cancel in January, and when I called to see what exactly I had to do to cancel, I was told by the Executive Director of the branch that I joined that I had signed a year long contract and that I could buy out the contract for $150 or I could pay the difference for a month to month and then end it after 30 days, totalling $140.
I tried to explain to the woman that I had signed up for a month to month to begin with and that the man who signed me up told me that I had to sign a "12 month agreement" to "lock in my membership fee for 1 year". She was not interested in listening to my explanation and she told me that I had to either serve out my contract or pay the difference.
The man who signed me up for my membership no longer works there, and, even though I have a witness, they are not interested in helping me at all. So, this is a warning, do not join Healthtrax, and if you do want to join, Do NOT SIGN ANYTHING unless you are sure you want to belong for at least a year.
