Bad Referral Service

I recently completed a South Carolina hog hunt that was referred to me by www.outdoorsman.com
The problem was the outfitter - WildOak Plantation (Kevin Welch) went into foreclosure in May or June according to the bank. Welch took the deposit in late June. Everyone out there knows that a bank does not foreclose on a whim but over months. Basically Outdoorsman could not care less. They were still running the guy's ad on their web site until I complained a second time on September 28.

I received a letter dated 7 weeks prior (08/08/08), telling me that he had turned everything over to another outfitter and he would take good care of us. Outdoorsman admitted that they tried to call & email Wild Oak with no reply after my call on July 18 but did nothing because his ad was paid for the entire year. They also admitted to receiving other calls but this outfit. After I expressed my opinion of the deal they did finally kill the ad. Outdoorsman attitude is that they are just "independent contractors" doing ads & referrals. Outdoorsman could not have done much to check them out before putting them on the web site.

I feel that they screwed us as bad as Wild Oak. The outfitter that tried to cover some of the cheated hunters laughed that we were sold a 6 pig hunt. He worked the lease for 3 years & never saw 6 pigs. I have asked Outdoorsman if they would like to help by supplying the names of others that were cheated but there has been no reply in a month. There are fraud complaints in action right now with South Carolina, Florida (welch's home) & FBI.
