Being a business owner myself in the CT area I know it's very tough to come under attack by people that make statements here. At some point you have to ask yourself, if this is all worth it. I spent 20 years to get my reputation to where it is at today. Sometimes I have to swallow my pride even when I want to punch out out customer. I have to always remember my business is what puts food on the table, not my pride. Attacking any customer over $192 or $500 for that matter is just bad business. Now you have to deal with some type of lawsuit and having the world know that you have these problems. Even if you win in the end, you still lose.
I am currently looking into buying a Malibu or Tige boat, I called Malibu in CA. (like you said to) You are not a dealer for them. They let you service Malibu boats mainly because you sold them. However, any person may take their boat to another (boat dealer) and get it fixed there provided they follow the guidleines. The gave me the feeling that they are very aware of the issues you have had with customers.
About the facts:
Flwpower stated that you had his boat for two months and didn't fix any warranty work? Is this a lie? How long was it?
Flwpower stated you charged him twice the amount of money for the same work a year prior? Is this a lie? What was he charged?
Flwpower stated he put a stop payment on his check and then you charged his credit card without consent? Did you have consent? Is this a lie? Flwpower stated that he needed to get his boat fixed by someone else after he got it back? Is this a lie? Did you go back and see the boat?
Flwpower says you filed a forgery charge on him? Is this a lie? What forgery? You were fixing his boat? Explain.
You have not one issue here, you have 6. If you don't think you need to respond to defend yourself, and defend yourself on all accounts on all claims he made then it just shows that his claims are very valid. Trying to say that his is a criminal to cover yourself is a bad idea. Because if the charges don't stick, your going to look very very bad.
I'd like to think everyone here in the area does good, honest business. I knew of East Coast Flight Craft before you bought it and turned it into Xtreme Marine. Seems like there have been ongoing problems over the years there. Someone went to jail for tax problems when it was EC and Wane who used to be one of partners at Xtreme was bleeding the company of money. Too many people around here talk about this stuff so set the record straight already.
