I had a 2-year contract with Bally. They charged my AMEX card $26.13 for 2 years. The contract ended in July. They charged my card for another 2 months — $52.26 — before I disputed the charge with AMEX, and found that "the merchant requires cancellation in writing". What a gyp! I have a Platinum Card, and AMEX wouldn't even back me up!
How can you require 'cancellation in writing' of a contract that has an end date?
It's a good thing bally is going bankrupt!
