Anyone looking to sign up with this gym be very aware. This company is now in Bankruptcy.in August I signed a 3 year membership for $999 only to show up Saturday June 24th to find the building changed up. They are now refusing to refund the money and are referring all 1500 members whom they took money from to the bankruptcy court.
I also had several billing problems similar to what other people reported at various locations. I initially signed up for 8 personal training sessions. I paid for them all at once so that I did not have any monthly drafts. On the contract I filled out it requested I sign allowing a draft from my checking and I printed "REFUSED" in that box and put a large "X" thru the account information. My trainer warned me that I would have to cancel my contract that day since it required a 30 day advance notice which I did on the spot in writing. I wrote them a check and went on w / my sessions.
30 days later I notice a draft from my checking, bring in my contract showing that they were unauthorized to do that and they point blank told me at the Irvine location that once its drafted (even if incorrectly or illegally) they do not give refunds. Either use the additional sessions they just charged me for or basically I would have to sue them to get the money back. I did use the sessions up luckily before they closed but I'm now left filing w / the bankruptcy court to try and recover the prorated amount remaining on my 3 year contract.
If you are in the LA area and are thinking of doing business with this company I would not. If you shop around I'm sure you will find a much more convenient local health club that is not in Bankruptcy and handles their business affairs much more professionally.
