Bought Shih Tsu puppy from Fido;s Puppy Shop in Venice Florida on 6-12-04, in good faith that the puppy was in good health.
Within two days I knew the dog was deaf. I went to their vet within the 48 hrs. Required, I mentioned to the vet (Dr. Don) that I thought the dog was deaf. He said it was probably wax buildup, looked in her ears and did not find any wax, but diden't suggest a deaf test. I brought her to my own vet a week later, he did the test and sure enough she was deaf. I informed the puppy store, but got no satisfaction from them. They told me I'd have to go to an animal neurolagist in Tampa. I did call a doctor in Tampa and she told me, the test would cost $495, which I could not afford and they refused to pay for! My dog is still not house trained, because she cannot hear commands, she is now 7 months old.
