I called this company knowing that they were trying to sell something. I was congradulated because "I", yes lille ole me had been chosen to be entered into their special sweepstakes because I have a MC, VISA, Discover, or AMEX. First tip off that this was a scam. She informed me I could win $25,000, a Jeep Liberty, or a fabulous vacation for 4.
She then informed me that I would be receiving 2 years of Redbook and Cosmopolitan for free. She then listed points of interest such as Finance, Cooking, Decorating, Fasion and such and asked me what my interest was. I chose Decorating. She let me know that her company was going to send me 4 magazines relating to decorating for the mere cost of $3.27 a week. This was not one magazine, but 4! For one year, that's over $170. What a deal.
When I declined, she asked me if I was interested in receiving $350 worth of free groceries. I said yes and was then passed to a recorded message which I hung up on. I've heard this one before and you have to join their club and you get all these discounts and coupons which are no good once you try to cash them in. Or the hoops that you have to jump through are too small and you never get your money returned to you.
Needless to say, this is a rip-off. But it is fun to call them and let them think you're going to be their next victim.
