I had ordered an item online and was informed it would be in the store by the time I received a second e-mail from Toys R Us (which I did receive). After 45 minutes of driving and about 4 hours after placing the order (On the website, Toys R Us claims it will take about 2 hours to fulfill in store pick ups), I was informed the item was not available. It seems Toys R Us is quite comfortable with "overselling" an item rather than providing reliable customer service and ensuring in store pick ups are really available.
