I have been very disappointed with my membership in Equally Yoked. I joined in 2011. At the time, my pictures were taken. To this date, those pictures were never put on my profile. It took a month before my video was added to my profile. On the date of my first interview, I was made to feel that I was auditioning for an exclusive membership. There was a hard sell in which I felt pressured to sign up. The price of $1,995 was not disclosed until the very end. Again, even though I did not have the money to participate, I felt pressured to join. I was made to believe that there had been many matches made through Equally Yoked. There was not a trial period given and I was not able to access the site until I paid to join. Thus, I was not able to determine if this membership would truly benefit me.
As soon as I joined, I was disappointed. The pictures of the members were tiny and the only way to make them larger was to actually open up the profile. The pictures/videos were also grainy and of poor quality. I had been told that my age group had the largest amount of members. However, what I quickly found was that many of the men had already made connections with others and their accounts were on hold. Most of the others lived more than an hour away from me (and I live in the metro Atlanta area).
That left a small amount of others who did not fall into those categories but in whom I was not interested.
I was also disappointed in the events that were planned by Equally Yoked. I went to a Valentines dinner in which most of the members were sitting at one table and a few of us women were sitting by ourselves at another table. There was no interaction with males for those of us at the second table. Another event that I went to was at the Fernbank Science Museum. Four of us were there for at least an hour but never found the Equally Yoked group. I also went to the Celebrate Freedom concert but, again, never found the Equally Yoked group. Other events have been childrens animated movies that do not interest me or events that are too far from my home.
I am not the only person who has regretted membership with Equally Yoked. I have met at least eight others who have also had negative experiences. I am a single mom who does not receive child support. I feel that I wasted $1,995 and have not reaped any benefits from the membership. I will never recommend Equally Yoked to any singles that I know.
