Equally Yoked Christian Singles ripoff save your money services not worth what you pay for forced collection on contract

About four years ago, I signed up for this dating service. It seemed like a good idea at the time but the cost of the service I told them was excessive ($1500.00) but they were willing to setup a payment plan that fit my needs so I was fine with that.

Then I was terminated from my employer. I didn't use any of the services once I was teminated. It took roughly two years before I could find stable employment. I certainly wouldn't be looking for a date under those circumstances.

Six months after I was employed, a collection agency called demanding $1800.00 for Equally Yoked. I made payments and paid the balance off in full. Why a company that represents themselves as a Christian organization is going after other Christian's to pay off services not used and sticking to a contract like that, I tend to question their values.

My service was reinstated after complaining to the BBB and some e-mails to the office after they wanted to know if I was interested in resigning for another year for $250.00.

I dated two Women while I was a member. Neither one of them went to the same church that I went to. One was a Baptist and the other one belonged to The Church of Christ which after doing some internet research could be an occult. Since I wasn't joining her church she definately called the whole thing off which would be consistent with their beliefs. If your not one of them, your excommunicated (this is the 21st century isn't it?).

My advice for someone who is looking to date other Christian singles is find a church that has such a fellowship and/or Bible study in it. If your church doesn't have one, chances are your attending a church that isn't meeting your needs anyways. Some churches don't have the resources to do it. Maybe you should start one in your church instead. My church that I attend does have those type of resources but it is a very large church in the Seattle area.

I even got so disgusted hearing the commercials on Spirit 105.3 for EY that I bought a Sirius Satellite radio. They have three Christian music channels on their service without commercials and a better playback of tunes rather than playing ten songs over and over again.

If you have $1500.00 to throw into something like this, it would be put to better use giving it to your church. Which is another reason why I was surprised by the high fees. Most Christian's tithe, so what's up with the high fees?

On a positive note, I found the classes to be imformative but if you go to a church that has a singles group in it, those classes are provided at no charge.

The demographs don't really add up for this type of service as well. Churches tend to have more single Women than single Men anyways. Usually most single males that go to church are not successful. Most single males who are successful don't go to church. They feel there isn't anything in it for them. They would rather wait until there out of prison, a divorce, or out of drug or alchohol rehab to go. Hopefully once they get back on track, they will stay. So the odds of finding someone are very slim. There has been plenty of studies done to support this.
