My local fitness club was recently bought out by LA Fitness and their website claimed that they would honor our existing accounts and that it would be a seamless process. When I went there, the front desk staff was rule and made me wait behind a person that came after me. Then told me a fee that was more than what I was paying and when I ask to talk to a manager, they said he couldn't do anything and that I had to talk my former club's customer service department. After being persistent, a man came out and said his name was Kevin Suggs and that he was the manager. When I explain the situation, he said he was not authorized to change it and that I had to contact my old club that was about to close for good. After asking to speak with the region manager, he claimed that he was the regional manager. When I asked, if he was regional manager, why would he not be able to do anything. Then he claimed he could change it, but would need to see bank statements, contacts and other proofs. Considering they were able to pull up my old account, this seemed odd. All said and done, I was treated very disrespectfully and feel like a second class citizen asking for table scapes! If this is the way LA Fitness trains their Regional Managers, it's a real shame!!!
