After getting married in 2002 I decided to get my wedding gown preserved. I brought my gown to Classic Cleaners in BLoomfield, NJ and paid $130.00 to have my gown cleaned, preserved and boxed. I picked up the gown and Classic Cleaners showed me the dress through a little window that was in the box.
I was tolded by Classic Cleaners that I should never open the box or the dress will not stay preserved. Well about two years later, I decided to put my veil in the box with my gown and being all setimental I decided to open the box to look at my gown. To my dismay the gown was never cleaned and covered with extra dirt that was never on it after I wore it.
I brought it back to Classic Cleaners and they told me that I must have worn the gown again. WHAT!!! Why would I wear my wedding gown again? It made no sense... Why would I pay $130.00 to have a gown cleaned and preserved then wear it again? Classic Cleaners said they would clean and preserve it again for $30.00??? I told Classic Cleaners that that was unacceptable and they I will be taking them to small claims court. The court date is scheduled for tomorrow 8/31/04. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the judge is fair and orders them to pay me back the $130.00.
