Cinthia Jode breeder, puppy mill, scam, lice, pneumonia, back yard breede

I did get through the purchasing process with the "breeder". Despite some abrupt and rude statements from both her and her shipper she sounded like she genuinely cared for her dogs (I later found out she sends a cookie cutter email for EVERY puppy she sells - which includes how playful they are which cannot ALWAYS be true).

When I told Cinthia I was interested in her puppy she let me know that I had to purchase ASAP or he would be gone. Having fell in love with just his picture (and being naive) I jumped on the opportunity. I asked Cinthia to send over pictures of my puppies parents and she said she was completely computer illiterate and could not send them without her daughter who was only home on weekends. I agreed to receive the pictures that Saturday (they were never sent).

Sadly a day before he was supposed to be shipped I found out that our landlord would not allow us to have a dog in the apartment. I promptly emailed Cinthia Jode to let her know I would no longer be able to take the puppy. At this point she began cursing at me and telling me how it was "complete bulls*t" for me to cancel. She explained that now he would
be left alone (despite her weekly listings of puppies on puppyfind.com, and her website that clearly shows she has more dogs that anyone should). I apologized and within an hour had decided with my fiance that we would move and keep the
puppy at my parents until we found a new place that did allow dogs. Cinthia told me there was no way she was sending the puppy - she was worried about getting paid. She told me she could not answer my phone calls or listen to my
voicemail because she was deaf (which I don't believe to be true since she does have that phone number ONLY for business and seems to have called other buyers over the phone harassing them according to these reviews). I reassured her offering to send her money early. Her husband joined in on the email thread telling me they were good christian people and they would send the dog over and he had faith I would take care of him which I have done since receiving him.

The day had come to receive my puppy and I was overjoyed, we went to pick him up (in a parking lot where the shipper had told me to meet her) and saw that the puppies are shipped in plastic containers in the back of the mini van piled on top of one another. The shipper was holding my puppy waiting in the front seat. I was overwhelmed with excitement and didn't pay attention to much else. We got the puppy in the car and started driving home. I noticed he smelled of feces but figured it was from the travel. We bathed the puppy when we got home and as I was blow drying him and brushing through his fur I noticed small white particles and assumed he had dandruff. I called his vet in the morning to move his appointment up so that we could get him some anti-dandruff treatment.

When I arrived at the vet's office the following morning about 12 hours after receiving the puppy I started to explain why I though he had dandruff. The vet took a sample of one of the pieces in his fur and looked at it in a microscope. She informed me this was not dandruff this was lice. She quickly decided to further examine him. She took swabs of his ears which revealed extremely dark wax, ear mites and a yeast infection. She tested for internal parasites and immediately issued a de-wormer. She was appalled at his condition and told me I should certainly report the breeder and that everything that he had was highly contagious to other dogs so to keep my dogs at home far away (Cinthia had told me it was safe for him to be around other dogs). As I found all of this information out I sent the breeder an email asking for the
pictures of the puppy's parents that she had promised would be sent that weekend. Yet again Cinthia had an excuse. After a high vet bill I was happy to have him home and starting to get better. I followed all of my vet's instructions and sent Cinthia an email explaining all of the problems the puppy she had sent me had, and explaining that since I already spent more on his first vet bill 12 hours after receiving him my money should be refunded (since I should have received a puppy in good health).

Cinthia informed me that I could send him back for a refund. Send him back for a refund? I would never send a puppy back to conditions like that. After belligerent, rude and accusatory emails I started looking at the laws to have her prosecuted and have her animals removed from her home. She told me it's no threat to her, she knows the SPCA and they visit her every year and don't bother her. Each year she has some crazy "b*h" like me bothering her. No way to speak to your customers.

A few hours later I was laying on the couch with my new puppy on my chest, suddenly he began shaking. I became concerned and asked my fiance if he thought that was odd. We picked him up and looked at him and his eyes began rolling back in his head, he was completely lethargic and he had gone limp. We thought maybe this was a case of hypoglycemia and quickly gave him some of his vitamins (nutrical). This did not help. I called the vet's office frantic (they were closed since it was Sunday evening) and then called the ER vet. The ER vet instructed me to rush the puppy in. Later that evening he was diagnosed with kennel cough and a bad case of pneumonia. After another high vet bill and a quote for an overnight stay and an oxygen machine, our puppy was finally on his way to get better. The ER vet informed us that had we not brought the puppy in he would have died.

Through over 50 emails back and forth Cinthia revoked and re-offered the option to send the puppy back for a refund. She acknowledged knowing that the puppy had lice and ear mites, but when I had asked in early emails was it safe for my new puppy to be around other dogs she replied "I don't see why not". Cinthia emails from her Droid (not a phone for the computer illiterate), she stated once I started issues through email that she was checking my ip addresses and would no longer answer me or anyone near my home (most people don't know how to check an IP address if you can't upload a
picture). She is a compulsive liar and a fraud. She never ONCE asked if the puppy was okay, and when asked about this in one of the final emails said "it doesn't really matter does it". This is not someone you want to get a puppy from. I hope my review can help get her out of business and keep people from going through the heartache that I endured with my poor innocent puppy. This woman is either a puppy mill, backyard breeder or is purchasing puppies from a puppy mill. Before I reviewed her on puppyfind.com she was posting 20-30 puppies a week, but claims she only has 14 dogs at home. STAY AWAY and BUYER BEWARE.

I know he was shipped with "siblings" I would love to know who else purchased the dogs and if they had similar problems as I have escalated the issue with both my state and her state of Ohio.

Despite the thousands of dollars spent on vet bills my puppy is now doing well, and I'm glad that I removed him from the horrible conditions he was in.

Please feel free to reach out to me.
