Bait & Switch Lier Storytelle

My beloveded pet died back in February of this year. So, after the greiving process I got puppy fever & was scammed once & lost money. This time I went on-line to a web site for all dog breeds & clicked on the particular breed I was looking for; Yorkshire Terrier. There were over 1,700 breeders of this breed across the country.

The way this site works is, the breeder puts a picture of the available puppy & the price & then you can click on the details button to get more information including a phone # so that you speak to a person about anything you want to know. Unfortunatley, This web site called puppyfind.com has no control or juristiction over who is on their site wheather they are reputable or scammers.

So when I became interested in some, I put them into "my favorites" on my computer to go back & look at them again later. I decided on a pair that were in Florida. I contacted the breeder who only goes by name. Some places have cute names or the name of the kennels they own & some don't.

Anyway, there was a male & a female offered. The male named Papi & the female named Lulu. So I phoned & spoke to a woman who is the breeder & she said unfortunatley the male Papi is already sold & will be leaving later on that day but the female was still available so I told her that I would have to think about this & call her back because I did want a pair that are littermates like these being the same size, & age etc. I checked other breeders on-line for a comparable male. But that didn, t work out.

So I phoned her the next day & she said that the male that she had sold the night before came back because the purchaser felt he was to small & wanted something bigger which she said she could provide going to a freind of hers that was another breeder so, the puppy that I originally wanted was now availalable. She said she didn't want to get my hopes up the night before on the phone, in case something went wrong.

I was thrilled. She said these are very small teacups & the mother 3 lbs. & the father was also 3 lbs so they will be very small adults. The information on-line was that they were born on 1/19 which at the time would make them 11 weeks old. The purchase price was $ 700.00 for each puppy. The only additional fee would be for shipping them from Fla to NJ. That would be 180.00 per puppy carrier for a total of $1,760.00.

So it took a long time for the money to arrive because I didn, t put the full address on the envelope. They have a unit number which I left off so everyday I phoned & said is it there yet & everyday she said no. So after a week I told her that I will send another check & express mail it so she gets it the next day by noon which she did. It cost me $29.50. The original envelope came back-undeliverable

Then she proceeded to tell me that they needed a vet check & today is Saturday & that I will have to wait untill Monday when the vet gets back. The vet could not see them; I forgot what the reason was but he could see them on Wednsday.
I said what! Wednsday why! That was the best that she could tell me. They went to the vet on thursday or Friday. This story get fuzzy now because I was told so many thing that I can, t keep it all straight.

She told me that they were vaccinated & that one of them got diarrhea from the injection & he wants to check them after the weekend on Monday May 7 & then they could be sent on the plane to Newark airport. So, I started questioning her. I said who got diarrhea Papi or Lulu. She said Lulu. I said why two crates for such small puppies? She said thats how she does things I asked; the vet will see them on Monday before leaving & she said yes.

This woman & I talked on-the-phone extensivley. About two weeks before I asked her if these puppies were going to be microchipped. She said that she would be happy to do that for me for free. She said that she had microchips there. That made no sense. Only a vet could put them in by injection but I didn't question that. And I asked a second time, will you microchip these puppies & she said yes.

On the top of the crates there will be paperwork for me to fill in so that I could register the microchips to my name. And I asked, please tell me which is which. Once the mirochips are in their bodies I have no way of knowing which is which. She said okay

The big day arrived. She called me in the morning & said are going to the vet & then to the airport. So, I arrived at the airport & got the shock of my life! 1ST of all there was only one crate The 2 puppies were in the one crate One puppy was 2.5 lbs. & the other was this teeny tiniy micro minny who was so young & so small when the airport staff weighed him, the scale didn, t register.

I said something is wrong here these are not the puupies that I saw on-line & that I was to get. The airport staff said that that's all there is. I was furious! According to the paperwork one of these puupies was born on Feb. 12 2012& the other was born on March 13. He was just barly 8 weeks old. What happened to my puppies who were born on 1/19.

What happened to Papi & Lulu? These are not them. Well, I didn't know what to do. So I took them & went to my car & started calling Florida. Her husband answered the phone which was odd because it is her cell phone & he speaks with a very thick spanish accent. So, I put it to him. What happened to the puppies that I was supposed to get. And the one is so small thtat I feel he should have stay with mom until he was older. He said no ho old enough. 8 weeks is fine for a teacup but that wasn't the bigger issue. He had a hard time understanding me & visa versa. So, he said he would have his wife call me when she gets in.

She phoned right away. I said what is going on here. Where is Papi & Lulu. Why did you send these puppies instead of the ones promised. She sounded a little flustered on-the-phone & said she has on her websight something to do with unborn puppies. I said no you don't! What are you trying to pull? These are not brother & sister. She siad well, they have the same father but different mothers. I SAID I DON'T CARE IF THEY HAVE DIFFERENT AUNTS, UNCLES & COUSINS.

She said Joe you have two very good puppies. I said I don't beleive this! Isn't the male a little small? She said, he is a true teacup. And what about the other one? She is huge next to him. She is only going to be about 3 31/2 pounds. There is no way. She is already bigger than that now And then I asked;where is my microchip papers? She said the pink papers were not in the packet on top of the crate?

Uh, No. She said she'll have to send them to me. And I said why did you send them in one crate. You insisted on two from the beginning She said, the plane didn't have enough room for two crates. She clearly stated to me that she will refund $180.00 for the crate that I payed for. Anyway after one week my female puppy started getting diarreha & vomiting. Both puppies were scratching so I took them to my vet. They both had ear mites which cannot live outside the body.

He said where did you get them. I told him He said he usually only sees ear mite when they come from puupy mills. I said they were supposed to have been vet checked. He should have seen this. So they need to be treated. The sick one need x-rays. He thought that she may have swallowed something. Then he prescribed two different medications for her for 10 days.

The bill for that first visit for both of the $311.20 He asked me to bring a stool sample for both of them to check for Giardia & other parasites. He suspected if one puppy had something, the other one probably will because thay are all over each other in close quarters. That bill was $143.00 His findings were that the little boy who had no symptoms was not sick had something called Coccidyae (cok sid e a).

So the vet prescribed two different medications for both to be taken for 10 days & recheck. Total for the meds $74.00 So I spent 311.20 143.00 & 74.00 for a total of $525.20. Out-of my-pocket & I'm not working. I called her once after the airport call to tell her that my little girl was sick & then I asked her where my 180.00 was and I also had a sneaking suspician that the puupies were not microchiped.

So I asked her & she said no. $525.20 $180.00=705.20 that I feel she should pay. I have documentation for all of the money mentioned above. I called her vet & he said that he vaccinated them right before they got on-the-plane. According to her they were vaccinated, one got sick & he had to recheck them. The vet said & the papers also stated that all vaccinations were given on the day they arrived May 7

This woman is a liar, a cheater, a scam artist a storyteller She pulled a bait & switch on me. I, ve tried to call her several times & she says I'll call you back later & never does. So I called her again only to get her answering service & left a message to call me back & she didn't & I called again & got no answer. So I'm thru calling.

I'm submitting all of this to my lawyer & see what he can do but I don't want her to get way with this. Do not buy a puppy from isis hernandez from north miami fla. Or anybody from north miani fla. Because these scammers change their names.
