I started doing business with The Printing train in 2010. I loved (and still do) Dan, the salesperson. He is very warm, personable, and sincere. I also enjoyed working with Beckah who did several nice designs for me despite not returning phone calls or emails in a timely manner at times.
I did a considerable amount of business with The Printing Train.in I commissioned them to make stickers that would be placed on metal pens. They designed the sticker and ran several orders of them for me with no issue.in December they sent me the wrong stickers. I ordered clear and they sent me white. With some hassle, they did eventually replace them.
The following month, while at a celebrity event, I noticed that the new clear stickers were not sticking to the items and in fact, they were all peeling from both sides and were hanging on by a thread. I reported this to the company as it
was a huge embarrassment for the stickers to be coming off while trying to demo the product for my celebrity clients. I was mortified as my reputation and the reputation of my product was on the line here. The company had the sales rep come and pick up two of the products to see for themselves that they were not adhering. They jerked me around for 4
weeks promising to replace the stickers. Beckah promised time and time again to resolve the issue but did not return most of my messages during this time.
In the meanwhile, I had no choice but to use more of the damaged stickers while I waited for replacements that would never come. I kept telling them I could have someone else make them but was told repeatedly by Dan (and by Beckah as well) that they intended to make the situation right. After 4 weeks of waiting and being forced to apply 4000 more of these stickers, they said the vendor who did the job said the stickers were fine. They also said this was a bad vendor that they would not be using again because of the poor quality.
I ended up having another company remake the stickers since The Printing Train did not replace them as promised. They did after more time had passed, however agree to waive the invoice, which they seemed to think was doing me a big favor.
Weeks later, I received a call from Beckah that I had outstanding invoices. I remembered having paid 2 bills myself the
previous month so I told her that was odd. I gave her the amounts of my payments and in a condescending tone she said " I don't know where you got those figures from!" I was confused so I asked her to send me the invoices she was referring to. One had been sent to my previous address and never received while the other two had been paid in full.
However, the invoices she now sent were the same exact invoices now revised for higher amounts.
I told her I did not know what was going on down there but that is not how I do business and I paid the invoices for exactly the amount on the original invoice and that jacking up the price after it has been paid is not good business. I also let her know I was not going to pay these additional fees, especially without knowing what they were for.
After that, I decided I no longer wanted to do business with them if they were willing to use such tactics to gain $160 from me. I believe I spent $10,000 with this company and was not happy they were trying to slide these charges past
me. I hired another company to do my printing who asked Beckah for the designs I had already paid for over the prior 2 years. She was told they would maybe give them only if I paid the $160 that was in dispute.
Obviously, I was not happy to have my designs (which I paid for) to be held hostage. I felt like they were just wanting to stick it to me for $160 so I asked dan to get involved. The next day I received an email from Ted, who identified himself as the owner.in the email, he called me a bully, unreasonable and acted like he had done me some huge favor by not
charging me for the stickers that would not stick. It was a very lengthy, passive aggressive message which basically said he was not going to give me back the designs I paid for.
At this point, Ted says he is willing to give me the designs I paid for if and only if I pay the $160 worth of jacked up invoices and give him in writing that I will not review his business or tell people of my experience.
I do not recommend this company. The bottom line is the bad attitude starts at the top. Ted is rude, passive aggressive and plays fast and loose with the facts. I am going to have to recreate my designs at considerable cost and try later to recover the cost of recreating my designs from him.
I have done business with multiple printers over the years. This one is the worst.
