Members sign up for Pre-Paid Legal Services to protect themselves and their family in case of legal needs. We have had various needs and they weren't handled satisfactory. It seems all Pre-Paid Legal is interested in is to sign up new members.
When one goes to a meeting, they tell the members and perspective members that when one signs up, your legal troubles are over and that's only the small part. Sign up as an associate and you'll get rich and wealthy. There is no explanation there are more than enough loopholes for avoiding assistance to a PPL member to drive a large truck thru.
I have found it is a limited, usually worthless coverage as the provider firm does not want to do much at all for a member. Always an out. Can't help as that is not covered.
Tell that to prospective new members and they will not sign up.
It all is oriented to signing up more new members and referring a member to outside attorneys at a 25% discount. (Very high fees and a big retainer)
Such a discount is not useful because I never wanted to use an outside attorney.
We joined PPL to be able to use the provider firm.
Cover us.
