Dish Network: An Example of Inept Business Practices
On February 14th with the help of a sales associate, I set up an install date with dish network. I was buying a new home and was scheduling the install ahead of time for when I arrived. They ran my credit, and I was approved for a plan that included free installation, and a free HDDVR for two rooms. I paid my $56 upfront to lock in the work order. 3 days later, my home purchase fell through. I called up the associate, and told him the house was not going to be purchased, and instead requested that they change the installation to my current home and add one more receiver to a spare room, for an additional $7 a month.
He called into corporate with me on the line, and began to request a change. The woman on the phone began to say it would be $99.99 for a receiver for the third room. The associate stated this was incorrect, and that because I had never had an account, and was approved, I only needed to pay $7 a month for the receiver, and not the $99.
